The foods we combined in this treat will help to calm those overly excited, energetic, or anxious dogs while also providing a tasty flavour and other incredible health benefits!
Did you know?
My inspiration for creating this treat was my dog Milly’s separation anxiety. I love her energy, in fact it’s one of my favourite things about my sweet Milly along with how loving and loyal she is. But when she was younger, all that energy, love, and loyalty caused her to have separation anxiety, no matter how long or how much we tried to physically and mentally wear her out, nothing seemed to help. She was even chewing holes through walls and eating floors at one point. After doing some research, I learned which foods would help calm and soothe her when combined with the walks and activities.
Chamomile herb is used for its mild sedative properties that can even help us humans in a good cup of tea before bed. It also can help with digestion and gas in your pet.
Blueberries, a mini powerhouse of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, can help fight the effects of stress. They are a great source of vitamin C, fiber, and phytochemicals (naturally occurring chemical compound found in plants).
We then add locally sourced honey from the 100 Mile House B.C. area. Honey is known for its antibacterial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiseptic, and anti-fungal properties. It contains many vitamins and minerals, all of which provide immune boosting benefits.
Raw natural pumpkin seeds contain an amino acid called cucurbitin, which paralyzes and can help to eliminate worms from the digestive track. Not only is it a great natural de-wormer, but is loaded with beneficial vitamins and minerals.
